Musina Nature Reserve is a wonderful way to experience at first hand the remarkable baobab tree. The Musina Nature Reserve is some 10km south of the town of Musina, and home to the country’s largest collection of baobabs. Take a drive through this remarkable reserve, where rocky outcrops belong to a rock formation called the Sand River Gneiss, which is said to be one of the oldest in the world

Messina Museum is highly recommended. The museum features exhibits on the history of the city, including the mining industry that has played a significant role in the area’s development. The museum also has a collection of artifacts from the Mapungubwe civilisation, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. 

Maremani Nature Reserve The reserve is close to the Limpopo River, and bordering Zimbabwe.The mission for the Maremani Nature Reserve is the restoration of natural and secure habitats for the native African Wildlife. Its an arid hunting and infertile farming areas tha has become possible to let the natural animal life and indigenous plants of the wooded Savannah regenerate in a large continuous natural area with watering holes and secure habitats.

Mapungubwe National Park: Animal-rich national park on the confluence of 2 rivers & former home of 11th-century civilization. A World Heritage Site is the ideal location for anyone interested in wildlife and birds, to those in search of serenity, identity and the extraordinary history of this Park. This is the place where archaeologists excavated the famous golden rhino and other evidence of a wealthy African kingdom.

The closest airport to Musina is the Polokwane International Airport, which is approximately 250 kilometers away. From the airport, you can rent a car or take a taxi to Musina. If you’re driving to Musina, the N1 highway is the main route that connects the city to the rest of South Africa. The drive from Johannesburg to Musina takes approximately 5 hours, while the drive from Polokwane takes approximately 3 hours. Once you arrive in Musina, getting around the city is relatively easy. Taxis and shared minibus taxis are readily available, and many of the city’s attractions are within walking distance of each other.

For those using public transport the minibus taxi rank is on the north side of the Boxer Superstore and has frequent transport to Beitbridge, Louis Trichardt, Polokwane,etc. City to city bus and Intercape coaches offer a daily coach services to Park station bus terminals in Johannesburg.

You might notice a heavy flow of traffic heading to the Beitbridge border post which is just about 20 kilometres north of the town. Musina is located along the busy regional highway that is used by cars, buses and trucks connecting south African ports, Industry, attractions, business with the rest of the Southern African nations i.e Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, DRC, etc.
