After a decade i decided to visit Mzuzu the capital city of the Northern region of Malawi. Unfortunately there are only two ways to travel from Blantyre which is by car or bus. For my budget i travelled with Sososo coaches a premier three star luxury coach service. The journey covers a total distance of about 685 kilometres, which takes about 10 to 12 hours of travel when using a bus.

The bus to Mzuzu starts off in Blantyre at exactly 07:00. Sososo is well known for its time management just a minute late you will miss the bus for sure. The journey passes through zalewa, Ntcheu, Dedza, Lilongwe, kasungu, etc. From Blantyre the bus only makes three stops i.e in Ntcheu, Lilongwe and Kasungu. The first stop is in Nctheu just a 5 minutes recess for passengers to ease themselves at the bus depot wash rooms.

In Lilongwe its a 15 minutes stop as the crew needs to open the baggage Compartment to offload bags for passengers disembarking in Lilongwe and loading for those boarding for Mzuzu. In Lilongwe the bus station is at Grand business park along the city bypass road.
In Kasungu there stop at Puma filling station for a five minutes recess. For passengers to ease themselves and buy some food and beverages for the remainder of the journey. Arrival in Mzuzu is usually around 18:00/19:00 depends on the road situation along the journey.
Food served on board is just a basic snack and drink/water. Its served twice first one from Blantyre to Lilongwe and the second one from Lilongwe to Mzuzu.
