The journey takes about 4-5 hours depending on the traffic. By road the distance between Nairobi to Bura East is 449 kilometers from Nairobi through Thika, Mwingi, Garissa, and branch right to Bura in Tana.

By air you get flights from Nairobi Wilson Airport to the Bura East Airstrip. Another option is to take a flight to Malindi Airport, which is located about 60 kilometers from Bura.
