Nacala is also known as a diving gem, this area hasn’t hit the tourist radar as yet, but is the perfect diving spot.

Transportation

The city is served by the Nacala Airport, which receives flights from major cities in Mozambique and neighboring countries. The only airline currently making scheduled flights to Nacala is Mozambique Airlines (LAM) plus car hire services. From the airport, visitors can take a taxi or hire a car to get to their hotel. Another option is to travel to Nampula, which is the nearest major city to Nacala. From there, visitors can take a bus or hire a car to get to Nacala. The journey takes around three hours and offers stunning views of the Mozambican countryside. Kenya Airways offers flights from Nairobi to Nampula which is just 200 kilometres away from Nacala.

Taxis are a common mode of transportation in Nacala and are relatively affordable. It’s important to negotiate the fare before getting in the taxi. Walking: Nacala is a small city, and many of the top attractions are within walking distance of each other. However, it’s important to stay safe and be aware of your surroundings when walking around the city.

The road network to Nacala is well-maintained and offers a scenic drive, particularly if you are traveling from Nampula. There are daily minibuses that connect Nacala with multiple towns in Mozambique. While these can be a longer and less comfortable journey, they offer an authentic travel experience and are inexpensive. express bus services are available from major cities such as Nampula. These buses are equipped with comfortable seating and sometimes provide amenities like air conditioning.

The Nacala Cathedral is a cute church surrounded by lovely greenery & tall palm trees.
